The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is inviting nominations from school teachers and teacher educators for the National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Awards for the year 2020 and 2021.
The purpose of this award is to felicitate teacher and teacher educators who have contributed in enhancing student learning, by innovatively and effectively integrating technology supported learning into the school curriculum, and thereby promoting enquiry-based cooperative and collaborative learning using ICT.
The National ICT Award has two categories - Best Teacher Educators Award and Best Practicing States/Union Territories (UTs).
Who is eligible to apply?
Teachers and educators from schools run by the state government, UT administration, schools run by local bodies, private schools affiliated to state boards, aided by state government and UT administration.
Central Govt. Schools (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas [JNVs] and Sainik Schools).
Schools run by Ministry of Defence (MoD) and schools run by Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES).
Schools affiliated to Council for Indian Schools Certificate Examination (CISCE).
Schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Submission and selection
The teachers can submit their online application through the website ictaward.ncert.gov.in. The last date for teachers and teacher educators to submit their applications is 30 June 2022. The last date for states, UTs and organisations to evaluate the nominations and forward the applications to NCERT is 31 July 2022.
